Active thermal protection

Active cooling is the cornerstone of hypersonic flight. Hydrogen is circulated in the aircraft and used to control the temperature, improving safety and allowing industrial materials to be used. This is applied in the propulsion system and the hottest parts of the structure, on the bottom and sharp leading edges. Active cooling is made possible by compact heat exchanger technology, modern manufacturing, and compact hydrogen pumps.
